M9 KEIR TO LECROPT SOUTHBOUND
WEEKEND RESURFACING WORKS
Works Start on Friday 17 February 2012
Weekend resurfacing works will be carried out on the Southbound M9 near Keir Roundabout, between junction 11 Keir and Junction 10 Craigforth
This section of the M9 is used by around 17,000 vehicles every day and it now requires upgrading. This £240,000 investment by Transport Scotland will ensure that this section of the M9 continues to operate safely for years to come.
The works will be completed over the weekend of the 17-20 February. Works will start at 20.00hrs on the Friday night and be completed by 06:00hrs on the Monday morning. A contra-flow will be in place with one lane in operation for each direction of traffic. A speed limit of 40mph will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Commenting on the works Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s Operating Company Representative in the South East, said: “These resurfacing works will repair defects in the existing carriageway, providing a safe and smooth running surface for users of the M9.”
Real-time journey planning information can be obtained by visiting www.trafficscotland.org.
Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
The works are being carried out by Aggregate Industries on behalf of BEAR Scotland. Works have been planned in consultation with Central Scotland Police.
