Works begin on Monday 19 June for three days

Motorists using the A83 between Tarbert and Campbeltown are to benefit from an improved road surface as £60,000 worth of resurfacing works are carried out next week.

Works to a 400m section of the A83 North of Kennacraig will begin on Monday 19 June and are expected to take up to three days to complete. The works shall be carried out between 7am and 7pm each day.

The road will remain open, however to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, it will be necessary for a 10mph convoy traffic management system to be implemented. The convoy system will be removed out with working hours, however a 30mph speed limit will remain in place.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s Representative for the North West Unit, said: “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, creating a smoother and safer journey for road users”

“The traffic management arrangements are necessary to protect our workforce as well as motorists, however our teams will do all they can to keep disruption to a minimum.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
