Works start Monday 7 August for two weeks

Bridge maintenance works are scheduled to take place on the M90 Junction 10 Craigend Interchange starting on Monday 7 August. The essential maintenance will involve the upgrading of road safety barriers.

Craigend Interchange is used by around 30,000 vehicles per day and the improvements will considerably enhance the safety of the road at this location.

The works will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will start on Monday 7 August for a week on the M90 northbound slip into Perth (A912 Edinburgh Road). The second phase will start on Monday 14 August to Sunday 20 August on the A912 southbound carriageway towards Bridge of Earn. To allow the works to be completed safely, single lane closures on the northbound and southbound carriageways will be implemented and a temporary speed limit of 30mph will be enforced. These lane closures will remain in place for the whole duration of the works.

Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative said: “These works will allow us to ensure that the trunk road network remains at the highest standard, and the improvements are essential to ensure the bridges remain in safe for road users.

“The lane closures will protect our team and the public while the bridge maintenance is completed. Every effort will be made to reduce any impact to road users during this scheme, and our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible.

“We encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date journey information.”

Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
