£160,000 OVERNIGHT RESURFACING IMPROVEMENTS

A90 Kinfauns, Southbound

Overnight works start Sunday 3rd December for five nights

A section of the A90 southbound carriageway between Perth and Dundee at Kinfauns is set to benefit from £160,000 worth of resurfacing improvements.

The investment from Transport Scotland will ensure that this section of the A90, used by around 18,700 vehicles every day, continues to operate safely for years to come.

The overnight resurfacing improvements will get underway on Sunday 3 December for five nights, with works expected to be completed on Friday morning on 8 December.

To keep road workers as well as motorists safe, a 10mph convoy system will be in place on the southbound A90 at Kinfauns each night between 7.30pm and 6.30am.  The overnight convoy system will be removed outside of working hours to keep disruption to a minimum.  The northbound A90 will be unaffected during these road improvements.

Commenting on the improvements, Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s North East Unit Representative, said: “These works will repair a number of cracks, potholes and other surfacing issues to help improve the general condition and safety of the road for motorists.

“We’ve planned these works to take place overnight to help minimise impact to road users, and our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible.

“We thank road users for their patience in advance of this project and we encourage motorists to plan ahead and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”

Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland on www.trafficscotland.org, twitter @trafficscotland, or on the new Traffic Scotland mobile site, my.trafficscotland.org.

Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
