£270,000 SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS

A84 SOUTH OF LOCHEARNHEAD

WORK BEGINS ON MONDAY 4 DECEMBER FOR TEN DAYS

Motorist using the A84 two miles south of Lochearnhead will soon benefit from an improved road surface as resurfacing works are set to get underway next week.

The £270,000 investment by Transport Scotland will see improvements to 1.5km of the A84.

Resurfacing is due to get underway on Monday 4 December and is likely to take up to ten days to complete. The improvements will be carried out between 7am and 7pm each day from Monday to Friday.

To ensure the safety of road workers and road users temporary traffic signals and a 10mph convoy system will be in operation while works are undertaken.

Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum although a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running on a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These works will greatly improve the road surface on this section of the A84, creating a safer and smoother journey for motorists.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage motorists to plan their journeys ahead and where possible allow for extra time to reach their destination.”

Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland on www.trafficscotland.org or twitter @trafficscotland.
