Work begins on Monday 12 February for eight days

Motorist using the A84 at Strathyre will soon benefit from an improved road surface as resurfacing works are set to get underway next week.

The £104,000 investment by Transport Scotland will see improvements to over a kilometre of the A84.

Resurfacing is due to start on Monday 12 February and is likely to take up to eight days to complete. The improvements will be carried out between 7am and 7pm, Mondays to Fridays.

To ensure the safety of road workers and road users, temporary traffic signals and a 10mph convoy system will be in operation while works are undertaken.

Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum although a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running on a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These works will greatly improve the road surface on this section of the A84, creating a safer and smoother journey for motorists.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete these works as quickly and safely as possible, and we thank motorists for their patience in advance.  We would also encourage motorists to plan their journeys ahead and where possible allow for extra time to reach their destination.”

Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland on or twitter @trafficscotland.
