Improvements begin Monday 30 July for two weeks

Motorists using the A84 between Runacraig and Strathyre are to benefit from an improved road surface as BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to resurface sections of the carriageway over a 5km stretch of the A84 starting next week.

The investment will help create a smoother road surface for motorists, increasing road safety along these areas of the route.

Works will begin on Monday 30 July and are programmed to take up to ten working days to complete. The resurfacing will be carried out between 7am and 7pm each day, with no works taking place on Saturday or Sunday.

The A84 will remain open throughout the improvements, however to ensure the safety of road users and road workers temporary traffic lights and a 10mph convoy system will be in operation while works are undertaken. Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, although a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running on a temporary surface.

Consultation has been carried out with all relevant stakeholders and local residents to inform them of the project and traffic management arrangements.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s Representative for the North West, said: “This latest investment to the A84 will improve the quality and safety for road users.

“We’ve taken steps to minimise disruption to road users avoiding working on Saturday or Sunday.

“We would encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date information and leave some extra time for their journey.
