An essential road maintenance project to address damaged components on the A9 Jubilee Bridge north of Dunkeld is due to begin this weekend.

The project will involve replacing the damaged bridge joint which is in need of essential maintenance to ensure the bridge continues to operate safely.

The work is set to begin on Sunday 9 December and expected to take up to a week to complete.  To keep roadworkers as well as motorists safe, temporary traffic lights will be in place continuously on the A9 to ensure traffic can safely pass through the works.

“These essential bridge maintenance works will allow our teams to safely replace the bridge joint on the Jubilee Bridge which carries the A9 over the River Tay north of Dunkeld.

“The joint is damaged and in need of urgent replacement to ensure the bridge continues to function safely and sustains no further deterioration.

“The traffic management is essential to keep everyone safe during the project however our teams will do all they can to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.

“We thank road users for their patience in advance and encourage road users to plan their journey by checking the Traffic Scotland website and leaving some extra time to complete their journeys.”
