£45,000 OVERNIGHT SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS

A835 Tarvie

Works begin Thursday 14 March for one night

·         Overnight road closure in place for safety, 7pm – 6am

Motorists using the A835 at Tarvie are set to benefit from an improved road surface as £45,000 worth of resurfacing works are set to get underway Thursday 14 March.

The surfacing improvements will address any defects in the road surface, creating a smoother and safer journey for motorists.

The overnight project is set to begin on Thursday 14 March and is programmed to take one night to complete. The surfacing works will take place between 7pm and 6am with works due to be completed by 6am Friday 15 March.

To keep roadworkers as well as road users safe during the project, an overnight road closure will be in place over the extent of the works during working hours due to the narrow road widths on this section of the A835.  To help minimise disruption, amnesties will be provided at 9pm, 11pm, 1am and 4am to safely escort traffic through the work site.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to make them aware of the plans and share information about the project in advance.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “The £45,000 surfacing improvements will help address the defects on this section of the A835 and greatly improve the surface for motorists.

“The traffic management arrangements are necessary to ensure the safety of road workers and motorists. We’ve taken on board feedback from the consultation process and steps to minimise disruption by carrying out the works overnight to help limit the impact on residents and motorists.

“We thank motorists and the local community in advance for their patience while we carry out the project. We encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website before setting off for up to date traffic information.”
