Work starts Monday 13 May for five days

A section of the A95 at Tormore is set to benefit from £140,000 resurfacing improvements starting next week.

The resurfacing improvements will address any defects in the road and create a smoother and safer journey for motorists.

The resurfacing works will begin on Monday 13 May and will take five days to complete. The project will take place between 7.30am and 5.30pm each day with works due to be completed by 5.30pm Friday 17 May.

To ensure the safety of road workers as well as motorists, a 10mph convoy traffic management system will be in place throughout the works. All traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.

Commenting on the improvements, Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative, said: “This £140,000 project has been designed to improve the general condition and safety of this section of the A95 for motorists.

“The traffic management is essential for keeping our road workers as well as road users safe during working hours. Our teams will do all they can to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance while we complete these works and encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”

Real-time journey planning information can be obtained by visiting, or twitter at @trafficscotland or the new mobile site

Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
