A85 Huntingtower

Works begin Sunday 6 October for four nights.

Motorists using the A85 near Huntingtower on the outskirts of Perth are set to benefit from an improved road surface as £125,000 worth of surfacing improvements are set to get underway from Sunday night.

The improvements will address any defects in the road surface, creating a smoother and safer journey for motorists.

The overnight improvements are scheduled to begin on Sunday 6 October and will take four nights to complete. The project will take place between 7pm and 7am each night with surfacing expected to be finished by 7am Thursday 10 October.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers as well as motorists, a 10mph convoy system will be in place each night during the improvements. The Tibbermore and Huntingtower Junctions will be closed for safety, with a signed diversion route in place for road users. All traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These £125,000 essential surfacing improvements will upgrade the existing road surface at Huntingtower, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users.

“The traffic management arrangements are necessary to ensure the safety of road workers as well as motorists. We have planned the improvements to take place overnight to minimise disruption for road users.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible, and we thank the local community and all road users for their patience in advance while we carry out this essential work. We would encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
