£300,000 OVERNIGHT RESURFACING IMPROVEMENTS

A92 Chapel Junction to Redhouse Roundabout, Northbound

Works start Tuesday 5 November for three weeks

A section of the northbound A92 between Chapel Junction and Redhouse Roundabout in Fife is set to benefit from £300,000 worth of resurfacing improvements starting this week.

This northbound section of the A92 is used by around 16,000 vehicles every day and essential surface maintenance works are now required.

This project will start on Tuesday 5 November over three weeks, with work taking place between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night.   No work will take place overnight on Saturday or Sunday nights, with all work expected to be completed by 6.30am on Tuesday 19 November.

For the safety of roadworkers as well as motorists, a 10mph convoy system will be in place on the northbound A92 during working hours each night of the project. The southbound carriageway will be unaffected during this project.

Commenting on the project, Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative, said: “The resurfacing on A92 between Chapel Junction and Redhouse Roundabout is part of a series of improvements that have been carried out along the A92 in recent years, and has been designed to create a smoother and safer journey for motorists.

“The resurfacing has been scheduled to take place during night-time hours with no weekend working to minimise delays, however we encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
