**UPDATE: SURFACING IMPORVEMENTS ON A835 NORTH OF INVERLAEL POSTPONED UNTIL MONDAY 9 DECEMBER**

Please be advised that the surfacing improvements on the A835 north of Inverlael, outlined in the release below, have been rescheduled.

The project was due to get underway on Thursday 21 November however delays with other schemes in the programme caused by inclement weather has meant the project has had to be rescheduled.   Work will now take place from Monday 9 December for seven days.

The traffic management will remain the same as originally planned, with temporary traffic lights and a 10mph convoy system in place for safety between 7am and 7pm each day. Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, however a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running over a temporary road surface.

No works are planned to take place over the weekend.

All stakeholders have been informed of the changes to the programme.

SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS

A835 North of Inverlael

Works begin on Thursday 21 November for seven days

Motorists using the A835 north of Inverlael are set to benefit from an improved road surface as road maintenance works are set to begin next week.

The project will see improvements to a section of the A835 over a kilometre long, creating a smoother and safer road for motorists.

The improvements are scheduled to start on Thursday 21 November and will take up to seven days to complete. The project will take place between 7am and 7pm each day with surfacing expected to be completed by 7pm on Friday 29 November. No works are planned to take place over the weekend.

To ensure the safety of road workers and road users, temporary traffic lights and a 10mph convoy system will be in place during the project. Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, however a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running over a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said. “These works will greatly improve the road surface on this section of the A9 north of Inverlael, creating a safer and smoother journey for motorists.

“We’ve taken steps to help minimise disruption for road users as much as possible by avoiding working at the weekend and our teams will do all they can to complete the project as quickly and safely as they can.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would encourage them to plan their journeys before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
