£350,000 OVERNIGHT SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS

A82 North Culag

Work begins Monday 16 March over two weeks

Motorists using the A82 north of Culag are set to benefit from an improved road surface as surfacing improvements are set to get underway next week.

The £350,000 investment by Transport Scotland will see improvements to a stretch of the A82 next to Loch Lomond just over a kilometre long, creating a safer and smoother journey for motorists.

The project will get underway on Monday 16 March for two weeks. The improvements will be carried out between 7pm and 7am each night, with the project expected to be completed by 7am Monday 30 March. No works are programmed for Friday or Saturday nights.

The A82 will remain open throughout the improvements however a 10mph convoy system will be in place during the project to keep everyone safe.

Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, although a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This essential £350,000 surfacing project will upgrade the existing road surface on this section of the A82, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users.

“We’ve taken steps to minimise any disruption to road users by carrying out the surfacing improvements overnight and have arranged for all loud operations to be completed before 11pm to further minimise any disruption to residents.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
